The government has decided to make the period of “Designated activity” for job hunting 2 years.
Now the graduates from Japanese university are given a period of 6 months to look for their jobs. And they can renew this once. So the period they can take time for job-hunting is a maximum of one year.
The period will be expanded to 2 years in the longest case subject to the use of a program to support their employment by local government.
It is expected that the new policy will make it easier to get a job in Japan for graduates from Japan universities.
The Ministry of Justice is going to carry out the necessary procedures soon.
