We have often asked if home are available to use for working also. But it’s almost impossible to be permitted.
Some applicants claim the building has two entrance. But one of them is a back door or kitchen entrance, which isn’t recognized as entrance.
Other applicants think a living room faced to a garden has sliding glass doors. But Japanese doesn’t think it’s doors. These type doors, which aren’t actually doors, are called “Hakidashi-Mado” , which means windows for sweeping dirt out.
Hakidashi-mado is human size window, which only Japanese style house has. It seems a door for foreigners. But it is never recognized as an entrance by the immigration bureau.
Offices must be exclusive, independent and being separated from home.
