The Ministry of Justice has decided to provide residence status with permission to work for 4th generation Japanese foreigners living abroad. The applicant must be between the ages of 18 and 30years old. They are required to have an ability in daily conversation equivalent to N4 when they apply for the first time, and N3 when renewing. Visas for their dependents are not issued. This will be decided through a public comment when the system starts.
